I’m sorry for skipping weekend links last week, but I was busy enjoying the holidays with my family and hanging out with Spiderman, my hero. Don’t you like his big muscles?
Links I loved this week:
Motherhood Really Does Matter @ Grace Full Mama
20 questions for a New Year’s Even reflection @ Simple Mom (just because New Year’s has passed doesn’t mean you can’t still work through these thought-provoking questions)
The 1 Person You Need to Unfriend in 2013 @ Inspired to Action
Are you really eating a nutrient dense diet (and would Dr. Price approve)? @ The Nourishing Gourmet (check out the handy PDF document near the end)
Buy Local, Pastured Meat With Your Tax Return- Invest in Your Family’s Health This Year @ A Little Bit of Spain in Iowa
Waking Up to a Good Sleep @ GNOWFGLINS
A Video Tour of the Homestead @ Nourishing Days (we’ll probably never have a large homestead like this, but I loved watching it all the same)
Are you fighting for you marriage?
You know, I don’t talk a lot about marriage on this blog, not because I don’t love my own marriage to my amazing husband or hold it in high esteem, but because I don’t yet consider myself to have much to offer anyone on the topic.
However, I am honored to be able to introduce you to my friend Tracy, and her new book Warrior Bride . My husband has known her husband, Brayden, since childhood, and together we’ve been friends as couples for over 9 years. During that time, we watched Brayden and Tracy walk through an incredibly dark period of their lives and marriage as they were separated for 3 1/2 years.
It was so painful to watch, and yet I can’t imagine imagine how much harder for my friend to endure that separation and continue to fight for her marriage, when so many others around her had lost hope. But Tracy, through God’s incredible strength and power, she never gave up hope and she persevered in praying and literally battling for her husband and her marriage throughout those years, and now the sweet reward is hers… a husband fully reconciled with the Lord, and a marriage beautifully restored and thriving once again, better than ever. I may not have much to teach you all about marriage, but let me tell you, Tracy does.
If your marriage is in a hard place, even before you get close to the point of separation, this is probably the best $16 you could spend . Read her testimony, soak up what she’s learned, and bring your marriage to the foot of the Cross.
What I’m doing: Busily packing up my house, among other hectic preparations for our upcoming adventure. That’s a small hint of an announcement to come!
What I’m eating: Banana muffins made by my daughter and her best friend, using the Jovial Einkorn wheat flour that we’re trying out, an ancient alternative to modern hybridized wheat. They’re tasty… those cute little chefs made yummy muffins. :)
