Its just the way I was raised I guess. What I am doing to prepare to celebrate...we are working on what Christmas looks like for us to replace the negative feelings I have about it. I know it shouldn't be that way, but it is for me. This year is out first year trying to really figure it out and apply those things. I like to keep it super simple.
As for our plans, we will be travelling to visit family, as last year we did not go. It will be really busy, so I hope it can still be fun and refreshing too. Super long car drives and little kids can make a stressed mommy...so I am working on my attitude :).

To be honest I find Christmas really difficult....so I am trying to work on that. I'm so happy about this, as it will be relaxing to just be together. I will begin preparing our meal soon: turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole (no processed ingredients), cheesy broccoli casserole, homemade dinner rolls, and blueberry pie. Of course, I'll be making lots of yummy turkey stock after our meal is over.
I'm looking forward to your posts about Christmas. I haven't established many traditions for the holiday yet (since my son was born), and really want to do so. I'm also looking forward to the toy post and the carnival! How fun!
Enjoy your time off with your family this weekend, Stephanie! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone celebrating today.

We are celebrating Thanksgiving at home this year, just the three of us... me, my husband, and our 22 month old son.
