Congratulations! I’m excited for you! I have just three weeks left before the arrival of our second little one. (And boy am I ready!!) This pregnancy was a bit of a surprise to us as well, as it we waited around 7 months to get pregnant with our first, who will be 2 in April. For this little one, God chose to spare us that emotional roller coaster, and I praise him for it! (I don’t have PCOS, but I do have irregular cycles that make ovulation difficult to pinpoint!) I’m so thankful that God chose to surprise you, too, this time around! And, like you, the night that I tested, I had some things going on and was contemplating taking some medication, but something prompted me to check, and I’m so glad I did!

Again, congratulations, and blessings to you and your family!

Hey Steph,
Congratulations! I totally suspected. Not like I’ve been at church for weeks, but been reading your blog lately. Looks like our babies are due a week apart (Lord willing). ;)
Congrats.:)

Wow- that’s wonderful! First I just want to say congratulations! I just discovered your blog over the weekend and have been really enjoying it. I knew when I found a blog that had links to John Piper’s Don’t Waste Your Life AND Tedd Tripp’s Shepherding A Child’s Heart, I was in the right place :)
I was particularly interested in your post today… I am also expecting our third baby and am due August 4th!
I understand completely about not wanting to share the news for as long as possible. I too have experienced that extremely painful loss… 3 times in 2006 (and then oh-so-blessed with our beautiful daughter who was is 11 months today!)
For this reason, I have yet to share the news with very many people – good thing this is pretty anonymous! I will look forward to reading upcoming posts and sharing this time!
To a healthy and uneventful pregnancy!

I wish you continued health and happiness!

Congratulations! I was pretty suspicious about that “legitimate reasons” comment. ;) Oh and the fact that you were starting a series on pregnancy. :)

I’m so happy for you! God is good and His surprises are always wonderful, aren’t they?!

By the way, I just nursed Kaitlynn a few days ago for the very last time (she’s also 19 months). So bittersweet for me–I had no milk supply left (because I’m 6 1/2 months pregnant) and it was becoming incredibly painful for me to try and nurse her so I finally decided the time had come. On the other hand, though, I’m very thankful to have been able to nurse her for a full 19 months. I know many mommies aren’t so blessed. But it’s still always sad when it comes to a close.

Anyway, I’m so excited for you! Pregnancy #3 has been the most challenging and yet the most blessed for me. I feel like the Lord has taught me so much and given me so much grace throughout it; it’s been wonderful to experience.

May He also pour out showers of blessing and grace upon you, too!

Congratulations! And God sure does know how to surprise doesn’t he? I found myself waiting and waiting, trying to tell when I’d ovulate next. Little did I know, I was already pregnant. :-)

So happy for your family, may you start feeling better soon and have an uneventful pregnancy!

Congratulations! Babies are such blessings. You have joined the list of women I know/”know” who are expecting this year! I’m up to 9 women, not including myself (I’m due in June).

Congradulations!!!! I’m so happy for you and your family, a new baby is always a blessing. That’ll be a good age apart for your youngest two. Our are only 16 months apart and while it’s difficult at times having two “babies” in the house it’s very much worth it.

Reply

Raven January 20, 2009 at 4:45 am

Huzzah! Congrats! I’m so happy for you. I get nauseated without throwing up too, and I think sometimes it’s worse… you go around feeling like you might actually feel better if you felt worse, weirdly. May I suggest ginger tea? It’ll help the nausea without bugging the heartburn.

Thanks so much for sharing your joyous news!

P.S. I was not nearly as creative telling my husband about our current (surprise) pregnancy– I just called him at work at 7:30 in the morning and blurted out, “The test is positive!” He didn’t know I was even doing a test, so it took him a minute to figure out what I was talking about. :)

Congrats again!

Raven

YEA!!! That is wonderful news. I’m so glad you’re feeling better. I finally started coming out of “the fog” around 13 weeks with this pregnancy. I feel great now. I’m looking so forward to your posts on having a healthy pregnancy! Congratulations!

What a blessing! Nursing for 19 months is wonderful as well. Congratulations on that as well. Get lots of rest, eat lots of protein, you know the drill ;). What a miracle they are, huh?

Yeah, I figured you were pregnant when you mentioned “being under the weather” and buying a few convenience items to help you along. I also saw the comment on Biblical Womanhood and that pretty much confirmed my suspicions. I was wondering when you were going to tell us.:-)

Congratulations!
