I've been learning so much lately on where I am compared to Him. Am I leaning on Him or trying to go it alone? Thanks for this reminder/challenge.

So...very true. I've been learning so much lately on where I am compared to Him. God was impressing very similar thoughts on my heart today as he brought the hymn "I Need Thee Every Hour" to my mind. No matter how self-sufficient or independent we may feel at times, there is never a moment when we do not need a Savior!

So true! You know I struggle with the same things :o)
I try to tell myself the truth and acknowledge my set of temptations before my feet hit the floor.....like I can do nothing apart from him, I am DEPENDANT not in-dependant etc.
I have been keeping that quote I emailed from CJ's blog in my journal. I try to read it everyday to remind myself that even the smallest directive needs his input.
"Let our confidence be uniform. In all thy ways acknowledge him (Proverbs 3:6). Take one step at a time, every step under divine warrant and direction. Ever plan for yourself in simple dependence on God. It is nothing less than self-idolatry to conceive that we can carry on even the ordinary matters of the day without his counsel. He loves to be consulted. Therefore take all thy difficulties to be resolved by him. Be in the habit of going to him in the first place—before self-will, self-pleasing, self-wisdom, human friends, convenience, expediency. Before any of these have been consulted go to God at once. Consider no circumstances too clear to need his direction. In all thy ways, small as well as great; in all thy concerns, personal or relative, temporal or eternal, let him be supreme."
-Charles Bridges (1794–1869), from A Commentary on Proverbs (Banner of Truth, 1846/1968) pp. 24–25.

Aaron and I are reading the same book by D. Harvey. Judy, Christmas stuff is just fine with me. It's not like it's relevant or anything! :) Merry Christmas to you, too!

I do the same thing each day. This gave me some thinks to think about and work on. Thank you so much for blessing me today.
