I am about to give a 20-minute (!) presentation on my career path. There is SO much pressure not to say "I want to be a stay-at-home mom" that I just almost made a fake presentation. Then I decided to be honest, and I've included the Chesterton quote. Of course, I'm also interested in freelance writing and nonprofit work, so I'm including that too. But still. I'm quite nervous to stand in front of my senior seminar class and be honest. Considering that I attend a Christian university, this anti-mommy pressure is especially sad. I appreciate posts like these when I start feeling like maybe the whole world is right about motherhood being nothing but unrewarding, soul-numbing, intelligence-crushing drudgery.
