Got raw milk?

My liquid gold has arrived!

Dsc04125
I mentioned last week that we were joining a cow share, and today I picked up our very first bottle!

Aside from all of the health benefits and nutritional reasons to choose raw milk, Abbie and I each had a glass this afternoon and we discovered one of the best reasons of all- it tastes amazing!

I have never been a milk drinker. Even as a child I preferred chocolate milk or nothing. I think today I have been converted.

It may cost a small fortune, but I think it's going to be worth every penny.

Thank you for the link and the tip, Phyllis. Although I believe that raw milk is most beneficial to our health, even though these smaller dairies are extremely careful with what they are doing, every once in a while something can go wrong (as it can with larger, conventional producers as well).

So- if you’ve purchased milk from this dairy, please be warned and go check your fridge!

The Washington Department of Agriculture has advised consumers that raw milk bottled by Pleasant Valley Dairy may be contaminated with Campylobacter. More details here: http://efoodalert.blogspot.com/2007/12/why-drinking-raw-milk-can-be-risky.html

Yum! We have been drinking raw milk for about 4 years now! It is truly the best!

Depending on what kind of cow it is, you can make great ice cream with the cream.

I see you like the Nourishing Traditions. There ice cream recipe is great!

    Thanks for sharing,
    Rebekah

Troy, you might be right! That jar is half a gallon, but once we got it home and started using it, we agreed that we might be needing to bump up to a full share (we’re on a half share right now) fairly quickly!

Glad to hear you discovered the world’s perfect food! If your like me, your going to need a whole bunch more than that little jar pictured. I started with a halve gallon a week and now I personally drink every drop of four gallons a week!
